Steven Joseph Miller was born in Ashland, December 31, 1894. When he was two years old his parents moved to Rib Lake and about three years later they located in this city. His home has been here since. After finishing his educational training in the Marshfield graded and high schools he became associated with the S. Miller Fruit Company as a traveling salesman. Some years later, when the company was incorporated, he was elected vice-president in which capacity he continued with this concern until 1925, when he withdrew from it and spent a year in Florida in the real estate business. Upon his return to Marshfield he organized the Marshfield Fruit Company. Associated with him in this business as a proprietor, is Harry Fiegelson. Joining the armed forces of the nation in 1918, he was assigned to the signal corps. He spent a year in the government service, during which time he was stationed at Valparaiso, Indiana, and at College Station and El Paso, Texas. 

Mr. Miller was married June 5, 1925, to Miss Elizabeth Black of Shawano. 

Fraternally, he is affiliated with the Marshfield Lodge Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and the William J. Lesselyong Post American Legion. Politically, he is Independent. His hobby is card playing.
