Roane County Biographies
In May of 1997, this project was organized by Jeff Murphy, using the established KY Biographies Project as a model. State coordinators were sought to set up their own state project. They were offered the system design and tools created for the KY project, but were free to set up their project in any way they chose. I am Nathan Zipfel and I am the coordinator for Roane County, West Virginia. Volunteers are needed to enter, edit, and archive the biographies for this project. If you have biographies you would like to donate for Roane County, please contact me.

This is first and foremost; DO NOT post materials protected by copyright other than your own! Any posted biographies found to be protected by a copyright of someone other than the submitter must be removed from all West Virginia and/or county Biography pages. Books and biography collections printed prior to 1922 are generally not protected by copyright and are considered to be in the public domain. Photo static re-prints or duplications of pre-1922 works are not protected by current copyright. The short story here is: Make sure your source books are pre-1922 originals, or re-prints or copies of pre-1922 originals. Make sure all original works are accompanied by your copyright notice, which is at the least the word "copyright", your name, and the date.
